Our Story

Established in 1999 the newly formed congregation of Morning Star Community Church held its first service at the Holiday Inn (Lumberton). After some time, services were moved to the Old Social Security Building in Lumberton and eventually to Dunn Rd. the present location. The groundbreaking for the church fellowship hall began in mid 2012 with a dedication service of the fellowship hall on Sunday July 20, 2014.

These facilities have outlasted Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Florence. Though much devastation occurred, through Gods help, we stand here today with old members, new members, visitors and guests. In October of 2022 with a new vision, we transitioned into a new name becoming Cornerstone Community Church of Lumberton.

In January of 2023 God gave Pastor Scott a vision that the church was getting ready to enter our season of growth. God has truly blessed the church with an average attendance on Sundays of 165.  God is truly blessing the church through the vision God gave to Pastor Scott, and we can't wait to see what God has in store for us in our new season. Under the vision of Pastor Roosevelt Scott many ministries have been established.
